Ko Pha Ngan
Koh Pha Ngan is the home of the famous (infamous?) Full Moon Party, which draws thousands of revelers to a beautiful white sanded beach every month for a night of alcohol fueled fun. The area isn't exactly as exotic as it could be, as Westerners are highly catered to with an assortment of bars and restaurants serving British and American food while playing reruns of Friends, The Simpsons, and Family Guy.
That said, the beach is actually REALLY nice considering how much abuse it gets from partiers (while the full moon party is the "big night", there are lots of little parties weekly to keep people from getting too restless). With fire twirling shows, 10 bars playing a wide range of music down the beachfront, and hundreds(?) of little stands selling "buckets" (little plastic pales filled with booze, Sprite, Red Bull, etc), the party itself is amazing and lasts until mid-morning. Well worth a go.
