Lima

Hey everyone, I'm currently in Lima, Peru. The flight was long, and quite boring. When we got to the airport, my bag was, of course, one of the last to come out of the little baggage line. Once I got my bag, I made my way to the exit, and was immediately yelled at by lots of hotel agents trying to get my business. I was supposed to be picked up by some hotel I had made arrangements with, but they didn't come, so I had to call them. The person who I borrowed money from for the phone call eventually convinced me I should just go with her to some other hotel for 10 bucks. I was in the mood to get out of the airport, so I just agreed. We got in a taxi and sped through the city in a slightly crazy fashion. We got to the hotel safely, and paid the taxi guy. Everything went well, and the hotel room was fine. Then we went to bed. We were tired.
The next day we walked randomly down through Miraflores. It was very interesting, lots of parks and flowers. We got lost (slightly) and eventually made our way back to the hotel. We ate at this pollo (chicken) place, where our crappy Spanish skills showed through when we got one sandwich between the 2 of us. We eventually got that fixed, and all was good. We had Inka Cola, which is a soda that tastes like bubble gum. It is actually really good. I'll try to bring some back. I'm about to book a flight to Cuzco, where we will continue our adventure tomorrow. The rest of today, we will probably go downtown to see all the Spanish colonial areas.
Well, we booked flight to Cuzco for 9 am today, so we have to be up early, so I´m writing another message. We went out with some interesting Peruvian people last night and had some drinks, which was a lot of fun. They showed us around downtown, etc. They were learning English, and wanted us to listen to them. Also, the lady may or may not have been a prostitute, I´m still not sure about that. Maybe that is just how Peruvian women are? Anyways, she was additionally both a magician and a contortionist. She pulled two birds out of little bags, I have no idea how she did that. It was pretty damn cool. We had a beer called Crystal, which was good. We also had some Peruvian seafood dish that was really good. It had breaded calamari (squid), shellfish, potatoes (papas), fish, etc. The food here seems to be pretty darn good. Lots of red onions. Yummy.
Well, I´m gonna go pack up some stuff and wait for our taxi to the airport.
