Missouri
My home state!
Missouri is a medium sized state (both based on population and geography), and has two major cities of nearly equal size - Saint Louis and Kansas City.
I grew up in a suburb of Saint Louis called Affton, which is a fairly average community in most ways. I went to Mesnier Primary School, Gotsch Intermediate School, Merill J Rogers Middle School, and finally Affton High School.
After graduating, I eventually moved to Columbia, Missouri, which is the home of the University of Missouri where I went to school for Computer Science.
Missouri may not have oceans or mountains or big fancy cities, but I still think it has some good stuff to offer! Most of the northern half of the state is extremely flat and is used for farmland, but the southern half consists of the Ozark "Mountains," which are actually the low hills that remain from an extremely ancient range. This area actually has a lot to offer, with lots of float-able streams and creeks, caves to explore, and huge limestone bluffs to hike near. Some of my favorite memories from growing up involved these activities, and, as such, I definitely recommend them.
