Nevis Road
I took a bit of a trip to the area behind the Remarkables down Nevis Road. It is a dirt road with a variety of fun features like hairpin turns and an absurd amount of rather concerning river crossings.
I nearly flooded my car on a number of occasions, and was very thankful I had 4WD.
The area itself was once full of mining operations, but it now consists mostly of beautiful scenery. I'd definitely recommend driving it if you have a truck or SUV (or have a high tolerance for stupidity like myself)!
