Skippers Canyon / Carla and Alan Visit

One of my mom's best friends from college and her husband came to Queenstown over the weekend, so I spent part of Saturday and most of Sunday with them.

They arrived on Saturday during the after noon, so I met up with them and then took the gondola to the top so we could check out the views. After that, we spent a bit of time walking around Queenstown and then had dinner at The Fishbone.

The next day, I took them down an old dirt road through the very scenic Skippers Canyon. It was a really nice day, and I got some good photos! The "town" of Skipper is really interesting to me, as it was an old gold mining area and supported a small population for about 50 or so years. I'd have liked to live there, I think.

When we got back, we had dinner and then they said their goodbyes - always fun to see friends randomly in other countries!
