I grew up in Missouri, and we don't have a lot of options for downhill snow sports. I suppose we have plenty of snow for things like cross country skiing or snowmobiling, but those really aren't popular either. So, needless to say, I didn't do a whole lot of skiing for the first part of my life.

I had the opportunity to go to Colorado a few times in college, and then when I moved to California I had access to Lake Tahoe - unfortunately, I didn't take very good advantage of this.

I'm currently based in Queenstown, New Zealand, however, and have been able to get quite a lot of time on the slopes in. I learned to snowboard this season, so now I can ski or snowboard well enough to get around the mountain without any trouble. I definitely think I have a good base ready to improve upon in the future.
